In my decade of work as an educator specializing in teaching writing, I’ve come to three important conclusions:

  1. Students do not get nearly enough reading and writing practice in their regular coursework to become strong, college-ready readers and writers;
  2. Students do not get nearly enough one-on-one attention to deeply engage with the nuances of high-level writing;
  3. I love helping students become great writers, and I’m pretty good at it too.

I started working as a tutor in order to put to practice the kind of rigorous, student-centered language arts teaching that yields the best long-term results for my students, and most inspires me.  There just isn’t any substitute for one-on-one coaching.  Whether it’s in preparation for an upcoming test or assignment, or a long-term program to build toward college-ready writing, I am excited to help your student become the best writer they can be.
