Now Enrolling New Students!

Services & Pricing

We’ll begin to design your program based on one of the paths below, but all of our work together will be fully personalized to your needs.

All services are available virtually, though I find in-person work to be more productive (and enjoyable).

In-person sessions are available in South Philadelphia, or I can travel to you within the greater Philadelphia area (travel fee may apply).

College-Ready Language Arts Tutoring

1-3 hours per week, individually, or groups of 2-3

A completely personalized, student-centered program designed to achieve college readiness in reading, writing, and speaking. Students will select from a collection of college-level “mentor texts,” that will serve as the centerpiece for each unit. Over the course of each unit, students will apply a variety of college-preparatory strategies as they closely read and annotate a variety of texts, and prepare to complete a summative analysis (in the form of an analytical or research paper, personal essay, or speech).

  • Diagnostic assessment of student strengths and weaknesses.
  • Personalized practice and review.
  • Builds habitual reading and writing practice.
  • Regular feedback and revision using corresponding AP rubrics.
  • Early, supported practice on college-level reading and writing tasks (ex. Research and bibliographies, applying theoretical frameworks, comparative literature analysis, etc.)

This is a longitudinal investment in your child’s growth as a reader and writer. Most of my students work with me for at least a year or two (though we can discuss a shorter timeline if needed).

Groups of 2-3 are often even more effective; ask me if you’re interested in group tutoring!

Test Prep

1-3 hours per week, individually, or groups of 2-3

A personalized program of practice, strategy, review, and skillbuilding in preparation for the SAT or other standardized test (see below for more details).  Program begins with a diagnostic of student strengths and weaknesses, followed by targeted review and skill-building.  Students will learn the test format and strategy, but, more importantly, will build the skills being assessed.

  • I am happy to work with any timeline, but I recommend at least 2 months of practice before taking the test.
  • I specialize in SAT prep, but have also coached students on the ACT and a handful of AP exams.  If you’re interested in a prep program for another test, just let me know!
    • Experience with: AP Literature, AP Language, APUSH, AP Euro, & AP World
